The School of Earth Sciences within the College of Arts and Science seeks a Post Doctoral Scholar to perform independent research in geodesy and Earth sciences, including but not limited to, expertise in innovative geodetic sensors (gravimetry, altimetry, GNSS, and others), skills in deep machine learning (DL) architects and geophysical inversions to address contemporary Earth sciences problems and climate-actions. The Post Doctoral Scholar is expected to work collaboratively with researchers, students and faculty in the Division of Geodetic Science and School of Earth Sciences on scientific research and applications. Duties will include developing inversion and DL algorithms to analyze satellite gravimetry, GNSS, satellite altimetry, in situ, and other data to study Earth and planetary sciences under an increasingly warmer Earth, develop geodesy educational materials for short and semester-long courses, assist the development of proposals to respond to extramural funding opportunities, mentoring students and supporting group activities through collaborative service work.
Qualifications
Doctoral Degree in Geodesy, Earth Sciences, Applied Mathematics, or a closely related area is required. Demonstrated experience and publication records in geodesy and Earth sciences research is required.

The target hiring range for this position is $48,000-$60,000. The offer for this position will fall within this range based on internal equity, the unit’s available budget, and the candidate’s qualifications.
